I have noticed that there has not been a serious discussion about this. Should redirection be allowed in all games and tournaments? I personally think it should be banned its like cheating... Atking a farm isn't skill and any donkey can do it. The golems "main" purpose is to jump over farms and everyone knows this. Redirection basically makes this useless and waste 100 gold for the wolf who used it. It reminds me of stacks except now sheep don't even have to build a farm. Tinies are the best way to avoid a golem jump and it should stay that way. I get that its part of the semantics of the game so i was wondering what are other ppls thoughts on this? It pisses me off if i time a golem correctly and a sheep doesn't tiny and gets a second chance by redirecting.

First off any donkey can use a golem. So imo any donkey should be able to counter said golem.

Sheep Tag is based off glitches in wc3 i.e mirror images/golems/jumping with farms etc. Why should redirecting be the only one to get thrown out?

The reason no one appreciates redirecting is because its only been with us for a little over a year. And for some reason every sheep tagger hates change they see redirection as a threat, but really its just a wc3 mechanic that can be abused which is what sheep tag specializes in.

How is abusing the fact that golems and images can go over farms differ from this at all?

Also it makes goleming actually take skill. Now the user has to select the golem and target the sheep instead of letting the AI do it for them.

Redirecting only ups the mastery involved in Sheep Tag. If you don't like keep using tinies.

Also you can not get rid of it because what happens if its an accident say when someone goes to save and someone golems over the fence.

Another thing if you know a golems coming then why should you die to a golem? Redirecting allows you to bait golems pretty easily.

The golem in general should be removed as it promotes game play not intended by having people take that 50 50 shot and using 90 gold instead of getting claws and focusing on cutting. So if anything redirection just helps punish people into realizing they cant get cheap kills with a golem and should just get claws.

Redirection is even worse than stacks now instead of pushing a golem with a stack you don't even have touch them or build farms lol. Its so fkin flawed and its so easy too see why it is. Ofcourse using a golem takes some luck but a lot of the times it doesn't. Its a mind game if you play against a good sheep. Just because donkeys randomly shoot out golems doesn't mean its bad, or they will use it correctly, most of the time they fail or it gets blocked. If the golem is in the right hands it can be very effective.

If you know a golem is coming you shouldnt magically be able to stop it from atking you. You should avoid it or block with a farm which take skill. Not just having to click a farm which makes no sense...

Stop comparing golem/image jumps to redirecting they are not the same. What does having to simply atk a farm have to do with mirror/golem jumping?

Manually selecting a golem after a quick golem jump and atking a sheep would be almost next to impossible against a good sheep. It would take too much time and lead to mass slip ups.

Redirecting does not increase mastery at all it only decreases. After 10mins of practicing it becomes easy and any donkey can do it. That is why it should be removed.

Golems a lot of the time = last resort for people who's team can't do shit. So they depend on the golem to help them individually. Redirection removes all hope of this....

O.O When golems were created do you think they were meant to be used to throw over farms HELLL NOOOO.

If you suck yes, but if you have good reaction time its easy. Why should the AI automatically target the sheep that should be a noob setting.

So you agree with me. That golems can dramatically change a game where a team that shouldn't have any chance of winning can win with simply throwing a rock over a farm. Why not just give wolves the ability to throw a boomerang blade around a farm cost 98 gold. Imagine that its same thing as a golem.

The idea that redirecting has never been talked about is silly. It's come up time and time again. But let's have fun anyways.
1) Redirecting is in the game. To randomly decide to say it's an illegal action is silly (akin to "RT-rules"). It's there, exploit it.
2) You (Niceguy) have basically zero say in keeping it in the game or removing it. Try lobbying some members with influence.
3) It CAN easily be removed (simply ordering them to attack nearby sheep on spawn). But it hasn't for a reason (see #2).
